Learn About The Circle Of Behemoth Slaying In Dauntless

The whole point of the upcoming co-op ARPG Dauntless is to slay ferocious behemoths, and to do so players need to harvest aether. When a behemoth is slain it not only drops its own weapons—fangs, claws, horns—but returns to a state of pure aether, which can then be harvested. Bring your pocket full of aether and slain monster trophies to the aethersmith to capture the behemoth's essence and forge powerful gear. It's the circle of behemoth slaying.

And here's where the cash shop comes in, but hold on just a second before you rush to judgment:

Slayers looking to get more from every hunt will have the option to purchase temporary boosts in the Dauntless in-game store. These boosts are enabled when purchased and last a predetermined length of time. There will be two tiers of boosts available to slayers: Champion status and Patron status.

Champion status allots more materials when you finally get your kill. Meanwhile, Patron status boosts everyone in the party's chances of obtaining more loot. And Patron status gives behemoths a small chance to drop cosmetic items: it's the best way to deck yourself out in vanity.

You can still sign-up for a chance to test out Dauntless' Alpha by heading to the official website.
