Covering the Highlights of Final Fantasy XIV's Live Letter Part XL

Hello everyone! Final Fantasy XIV's Director & Producer, Naoki Yoshida, has just completed a marathon three hour Letter from the Producer LIVE! Joined by Community Manager "Foxclonn," the two Square Enix employees took to Twitch, Youtube, and NicoNico, to talk about some of the major points of Patch 4.2 - Rise of a New Sun! Lets dive into the highlights, and what to expect.

• Patch 4.2 is slated for late January 2018
  • Will contain the usual fair - Main Story Quests, Side Story Quests.
    • Side Story quests include Hildibrand, Anata Beast Tribe
  • New Dungeons
    • Hells' Lid, likely located in the volcano in the Ruby Sea
    • The Fractal Continuum (Hard)
  • New Trials - a series known as "The Four Lords"
    • The Jade Stoa, and The Jade Stoa (Extreme) will be the first in this series
  • Omega: Sigmascape, and Omega: Sigmascape (Savage), as our new raid tier.
  • The Forbidden Land of Eureka - Anemos.
    • Eureka content is slated for Patch 4.25, and will heavily be apart of relic weapons, and relic armor.
  • PvP Updates
    • Ranked Teams, Changes to rules, and a new map for the Feast - The Crystal Tower Training Grounds!
  • Inventory Updates
    • Chocobo Saddlebags, for extra storage.
    • Stack size of consumables and crafting materials increased to 999, from 99.
    • Have you worked painstakingly hard on sorting your inventory, only to hit "Sort" by accident? Square Enix has you covered with the new "Undo Sort" button.
  • New players being typically unable to view the cutscenes in Castrum Meridianum and Praetorium will be addressed.
  • The usual item level increase that comes with an even-numbered patch, and new Allagan Tomestones of Mendacity! Get ready to farm those MEN Tomes!
  • On top of it all - A NEW GLAMOUR SYSTEM!
    • Yes, the days of having a full armory inventory are over. Players can now convert items, and fill out "Glamour Commodes." Whether or not dyes carry over is questionable, so be wary when dealing with Pure White or Jet Black items. Additionally, Glamour Ensembles are outfits that players can make, and store.
    • All glamour prisms have been converted to a single type of prism.

This covers the main points of Live Letter XL, which serves as the Part 1 for Patch 4.2. Later on, Live Letter XLI will serve as Part 2 of the preview of Patch 4.2, where Square Enix will presumably go into the new content, such as the new Jade Stoa trial, and the new Omega: Sigmascape raid.
