Tencent’s Chimeraland Is Shutting Down On March 30 Barely Two Years After Launch

Tencent’s Chimeraland has turned out to be a mere flash in the pan as the novelty of being able to combine monster parts to create an entirely new monster quickly wore off. The monster-smooshing survival MMO is now preparing to close its doors at the end of March, barely two years after its extremely successful launch.

Developer Pixel Soft broke the news on the game’s official website but didn’t give a reason for the game’s closure. Long-time players, however, probably saw the announcement coming from a mile away as the game hadn’t received a single update since September 2023. Apart from the recent shutdown announcement, the official site, social media pages, and Discord channels also haven’t seen any activity for a very long time.

New account creation and in-game purchases have now been disabled ahead of the game’s official shutdown on March 30 at 9 p.m. PST. It's unclear whether refunds will be given, but it’s probably best to not expect your money back.
