It’s been a little over two years since Book of Travels launched into early access to the utter disappointment of its fans. Since then, developer Might & Delight has been revamping the Tiny MMO to address various complaints, including its lackluster combat and quest systems, all of which were addressed in a new Q&A video.

During the Q&A, the developers talked up some of the work they’ve done to make the game more interesting. That includes updates to character customization, a revamp of the fishing system, and the addition of new in-game events and achievements and a death system. The devs also reveal that the combat overhaul is still in the works and is expected to roll out sometime this spring. The team also confirmed ongoing work on a real-time day/night cycle but didn’t offer a timeline for its release.

The team also touched on the possibility of adding mounts and pets into the game, saying that it’s not off the table but it’s far down on their list of priorities for now. The big question, however, is when the game will be leaving early access, which the developers refused to comment on, but it doesn’t look like it’s going to happen anytime soon. You’ll find the full Q&A video below.
