Book Of Travels Halts New Content Development To Focus On Fixing Existing Ones

With Book of Travels unable to gain as much traction as Might and Delight would have hoped, the team is temporarily halting development of the game and shifting their focus to fixing, polishing, and improving already existing content.

Might and Delight original plan was to continually update the tiny MORPG with new content throughout Early Access. Unfortunately, poor reception, low sales, a dwindling playerbase, and a round of layoffs just before Christmas have forced the developers to re-evaluate their goals. The team admits that the current build isn’t polished enough to allow them to keep adding more content which is why they’ve made the decision to step back and focus on fixing the game’s core systems before they add in more stuff that will ultimately need fixing.

“[…] We have decided to completely focus on fixing the game for the next few months, instead of having our attention split between fixes and new content,” announced Might and Delight Community Manager Oliver Thulin. “Of course, we realise that the fact that the game won’t see any new major content additions for an undetermined amount of time will disappoint some of you. But we also believe that any player who has invested any kind of significant playtime in the game knows as well as we do that this is what Book of Travels needs.”

“And with this new focus on fixing what’s wrong with the game, all hands on deck, we’re going to put everything we have into the betterment of Book of Travels. And hopefully, with that, we also secure a stable future for the world of Braided Shore,” he added.

Thulin also assured the community that the lack of new content won’t mean a lack of communication on their part. The team will still be releasing patch notes and updating the public when they reach certain milestones.
