Book Of Travels Adds Achievement System And New Hidden Skills

Might and Delight rolled out a pair of updates over the weekend that introduced several new features and content to their Early Access tiny multiplayer RPG, Book of Travels. One of the key features in the update is the new Achievements system. Players can now access a list of achievements that they can complete in Braided Shore.

Unfortunately, the requirements for each Achievement won’t be awarded retroactively. This means that players will have to redo tasks, such as initiating a trade for the first time or pick up specific items, even if they’ve already done them in the past.

The update added a set of new unlockable skills, including one that lets players summon a travelling companion from the spirit world. How to acquire these skills, however, will be up to the player to discover although the devs offer some clues as to how to unlock them.

“Now, how you actually acquire these skills for your Traveller is going to remain a mystery. And you wouldn’t have it any other way, surely? We are going to say that these skills will be in the possession of certain inhabitants of Braided Shore, and we do encourage you to share your findings with your fellow Travellers on popular meeting grounds such as the Steam forums or our Discord server.”

A smaller more recently-released patch also introduces a handful of fixes and a prompt that will alert players that their inventory is full when receiving an item. The full release notes for both updates can be found on the Book of Travels Steam page.
