What We Played - April 4th, 2017

Each week we recap—try to—what games we've been playing, MMO or otherwise. We often find ourselves juggling multiple titles at once because there's just too many games to play, and we don't always get to talk about them. So, here is where we share, and we want to hear from you too. What games have you been playing this past week?
Omer - This week I've been addicted to Playerunknown's Battlegrounds: playing it during most of my free time. It's the first Battle Royale game I've played and I'm really enjoying it. Even when I play by myself it's really great. I hopped on to Revelation Online again this week, but once I found myself grinding dumplings I logged back off. The servers are still pretty darn busy though. I checked out Life Forge this week too and was pleasantly surprised. It's a fully functional indie 2D pixel MMORPG with charming visuals. This is what indie MMORPGs should aim to do: keep expectations and ambitions grounded in reality so you can actually release your product. I played a bit of Shadowverse too while on the go as I've been travelling a lot. Next expansion means NEW packs! I love that Shadowverse gives away SO many free packs. You get 10 for the new expansion just for logging in before late June.
Sean - Finally beat Nier: Automata (all the endings that matter: E) and I'm confident saying it's one of the best single-player RPGs I've ever played: a game that pushes the boundaries of what games as medium can convey, and challenges orthodoxy while still offering hope: a rare feat. I also finally got around to playing DOOM. I'm a little late on this front, but DOOM is the smoothest FPS I have ever played: feels like I'm a cinematographer who snorted steroids with his breakfast. Still playing Rocket League as well. Psyonix's newest game mode Dropshot has been pretty fun, a nice casual game mode that almost always gets points on the board for both teams. Oh yeah, I also picked up Momodora: Reverie Under The Moonlight with the last Steam sale: a simple but entertaining Metroid game that offers plenty of challenge—playing on hard—and satisfying moments.
Matt - This week, the Sound Voltex controller that I ordered showed up, so I've been playing a large amount of Sound Voltex 3. It's quite possibly the most challenging rhythm game I've ever played and I'm enjoying it a lot because of that. It also has a rather good soundtrack. Other than that, I got a chance to play the Deformers Beta this weekend, which has a fun, Rocket League-esque mode called Form Ball, but I wasn't able to play enough to really form an opinion on it. I'm also nearing the end of my Breath of the Wild playthrough and I'm not entirely happy about the way the story has progressed.
Erhan - I've been traveling for the past few days and didn't have much time for games. Luckily, I still got in a few rounds of PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds and started a new 3DS game, Mario & Luigi: Dream Team. I've always been a fan of the Mario RPG games, especially Paper Mario. Sadly, I had to uninstall Fire Emblem Heroes on my phone since I'm still rocking a 16 GB model and storage is scarce.
