The biggest international tournament for the biggest eSport is finally here: the 2016 League of Legends World Championship. With over two million USD on the line and eternal glory, six different regions and sixteen teams will come together across the United States.
The first event is the Group Stage which will take place in the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco, CA from September 29 - October 2 and October 6-9.
Next, the Quarterfinals will take place in The Chicago Theatre in Chicago, IL from October 13-16.
After that, the Semifinals will take place in the iconic Madison Square Garden in New York, NY.
Finally, the Finals are set to come back to the STAPLES Center in Los Angeles, CA. Notably, the same location of the 2013 Worlds Finals.
This week, the Group Draws took place and the top teams of each region were placed into their groups.

The top two of each group will qualify for the Quarterfinals in Chicago.

The StarLadder i-League StarSeries Season 2 was a tournament organized by SLTV that involved an NA, EU, and CN qualifier. With a prize pool of $300,000, the main tournament took place from September 7-11th.
The Group Stage finished with Ninjas in Pyjamas and Team Dignitas getting out of Group A, G2 Esports and FlipSid3 Tactics from Group B, Heroic and Astralis from Group C, and Cloud9 and Team EnVyUs from Group D.
In the Playoffs, Cloud9, Ninjas in Pyjamas, G2 Esports, and Team Dignitas were able to defeat their Quarterfinal rivals to make it to the Semifinals. From there, Ninjas in Pyjamas beat Cloud9 2-0 and G2 Esports swept Team Dignitas 2-0 as well. In the Finals, Ninjas in Pyjamas took a decisive 2-0 sweep with a 16-7 victory in Cache and a 22-18 victory in Overpass. With this win, NiP has won $130,000 USD in prize money.

The fourth season of the ESL Pro League has started in both Europe and North America. This premier tournament runs from August 17 to October 13 to the finals in Brazil from October 28-30. The Finals involves a $750,000 USD prize pool and the top four seeds from EU and NA respectively.
With a total prize pool of $50,000, the MPGL Southeast Asian Championship involved ten teams from the Southeast Asian region from September 9-11. The tournament involved a Group Stage of best-of-ones and a double elimination playoff.

In the Group Stages, Execration finished first which qualified them direclty to the Semifinals. The second seed, Power Gaming, and third seed, Signature.Trust, were sent to the Losers' Round 1. In Group B, Mineski won their group with WG.Unity in second and Tangerine in third.
In the playoffs, Exercation were able to overcome Fnatic 2-1 in the Semifinals and Mineski 2-1 in the Winners' Finals to finally meet MVP Phoenix in the Grand Finals. Exercation came out on top with a 2-0 sweep to become the champions.

WePlay.tv and Lenovo has organized the Overwatch Lenovo Cup that features eight teams and a $8,000 USD prize pool. Taking place from September 5-22, teams will first play in a Group Stage and a double elimination Playoff.
