League of Legends 

Mid-Season Invitational

As the second most significant League of Legends tournament of the year, The Mid-Season Invitational (MSI) starts on May 4th in Shanghai, China. Featuring the best team in every major league the MSI will be a fierce competition with many compelling storylines.

The following teams are competing for the trophy this coming Tuesday:

  • Europe (EU LCS) - G2 Esports
  • North America (NA LCS) - Counter Logic Gaming
  • Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau (LMS) - Flash Wolves
  • Korea (LCK) - SKTelecom T1
  • China (LPL) - Royal Never Give Up
  • International Wildcard Invitational (IWC) - SuperMassive

The Group Stage is from May 4-8 and will be a Double Round Robin. Each team will play each other twice in a best of one.

The Knockout Stage is in the next week where the top four teams from the Group Stage will play each other in best of fives to reach the finals.

ESL Pro League Season 3 Week 8

The group stages for the ESL Pro League Season 3 have ended in both Europe and North America.

With the group stage over, here are the final standings:

The top four teams from each region will be attending the ESL Pro League Season 3 Finals to fight for a prize pool of $512,000 from May 11-15.

Esports Championship Series Season 1

The eSports Championship Series, organized by FACEIT and Twitch, boasts an aggregate $3.5 million prize pool. The tournament features two leagues, European and North American, with ten teams in each league. The League is formatted with a round robin in best of threes.

Tempo Storm wins CEVO Gfinity Pro-League Season 9

The CEVO Gfinity Pro-League Season 9 Tournament featured a online Stage where eight different teams were able to qualify for the main LAN tournament.
From the Group Stages, HellRaisers, Virtus.pro, Tempo Storm, and SK Gaming were able to make it out to reach the playoffs. From there, SK Gaming beat the HellRaisers 3-0 while Tempo Storm beat out Virtus.pro 3-2. In the Finals, Tempo Storm took out SK Gaming 3-1 to win $55,000.

Dota 2

The Manila Major

The Manila Major takes place at the Mall of Asia Arena in Manila Philippines. It boasts a $3,000,000 prize pool and twelve invited teams and four qualifying teams.

MVP Phoenix win WePlay Dota 2 League Season 3

With over $200,000 on the line, eight teams competed during this last week. In the group stage, Natus Vincere, Elite Wolves came out of Group A while Vega Squadron and MVP Phoenix came out of Group B.

Here's how the Playoffs went:

Despite losing to MVP Phoenix in the Winner's Finals, Vega Squadron was able to beat Evil Geniuses in the Loser's Finals to meet MVP in the Grand Finals. With spectacular KDAs, MVP dominated in each of their wins with the exception of game 3. With this win, MVP adds to their trophy collection that includes Shanghai Major and Dota Pit League Season 4.
