LCK Recap and Standings: SKTelecom T1 are the LCK Spring 2016 Champions!
On Saturday 4/23, the finals for the LCK took place between the ROX Tigers and SKTelecom T1. This match-up has grown into a fierce rivalry as these teams have met in the last LCK Finals as well as the World's Finals. However, this rivalry has always ended with the same result: SKT winning it all. However, there was no clear favorite in this year's finals. On the one hand, the ROX Tigers dominated the regular season with SKT having mediocre results. On the other hand, SKT always shows up in the finals and they have been on a meteoric run beating Jin Air and KT Rolsters convincingly.
The finals began with a dominating Game 1 by SKT. This one-sided game was all due to a level one invade where Wolf was able to force Pray to blow both of his summoners. From this minuscule advantage, SKT was able to snowball the game to victory. ROX Tigers shot back in game two with a close win. Despite their efforts, SKT was able to take the next two games through the carry performances from Duke in Game 3 and from Faker in Game 4. With this 3-1 win, SKT has won their fifth LCK championship and a ticket to the Mid-Season Invitational. Given the results of this finals, SKT looks like they'll have another trophy to add to their already studded case.
