NA LCS Recap and Standings
The two quarterfinal matches between Cloud9 vs TSM and Liquid vs NRG Esports took place this weekend.
TSM
The first game between Cloud9 and TSM was a complete stomp by Cloud9. Their double teleport and multiple globals team composition continually caught TSM. However, TSM turned it on and won the next three games to take the whole series. Svenskeren looked better in this series than he did in the entire regular season and was one of the major reasons for their victory.
Team Liquid
Team Liquid swept NRG Esports 3-0 with an outstanding performance by Dardoch and Piglet. Liquid looked like they simply out classed NRG in both lane and macro play. While NRG's Impact made some impressively plays, Team Liquid's crisp play made them look like a serious contender for the championship.
In the semifinals next week, Immortals face TSM and Counter Logic Gaming face Team Liquid due to dynamic seeding. While TSM looked like the team everyone expected earlier in the split they face a difficult challenge in the Immortals. Team Liquid vs Counter Logic Gaming can go either way. Don't miss any of these match-ups taking place this upcoming weekend.
The Promotion Tournament is also coming up, starting Wednesday. The tournament features the three lowest NA LCS teams (Renegades, Team Impulse, and Team Dignitas) and the two highest challenger teams (Team Dragon Knights and Apex) as they fight for three LCS spots. The tournament is from April 6-8 and will give an opportunity for exciting new teams to join the league.
EU LCS Recap and Standings
The European quarterfinal matches featured Fnatic vs Team Vitality and Origen vs Unicorns of Love.
Fnatic
In Fnatic vs Team Vitality, Fnatic took the first two games with a particularly strong performance from Febivan. Vitality, however, threatened the reverse sweep with great Gangplank play from Nukeduck. Nevertheless, Fnatic would not be denied and took the fourth game to move on to the semifinals. While Fnatic has been in every EU LCS finals, they were not expected to beat Vitality due to their poor regular split performance. In their match against G2 Esports next week, Fnatic will need to raise their level of play to beat the likes of Trick and Perkz.
Origen
Origen vs Unicorns of Love was a clean sweep with a dominant performance by Zven. Despite Steeelback's strong performance, the Unicorns looked sloppy and lost. With this win, Origen face H2k Gaming next week. H2k is known for crisp macro play and great preparation, and will be a much tougher opponent than the Unicorns of Love.
LCK Recap and Standings
