World Of Warcraft's Max-Level Zone Suramar Detailed

World of Warcraft's senior game designer Steve Burke released an overview for the maximum level zone in Legion, Suramar: "the jewel of the Night Elf empire." It was paradise until the Legion showed up, of course.

All roads lead to Suramar [excuse me... Ragnarok Online], an ancient elven metropolis at the heart of the Broken Isles. The corrupted Nightwell fuels the nightborne elves and provides them the sustenance they need to survive. Those who are cut off from it live as nightfallen, their bodies wasting away as they search desperately for the magical energy they need to sustain them. Atop the palace of Suramar, deep within the walls of the massive city, the warlock Gul’dan plots the next step of the Legion’s grand scheme. . .

Suramar is a level 110 zone, built for end-game content and steeped in rich lore. Even Illidan played ball on the streets in Suramar. Since the zone isn't designed for leveling, players will spend much of their time exploring: "You’re meant to gradually explore the zone and all of its nooks and crannies, and take it all in a bit at a time." It's like crossing a rope-bridge above a ravine, you're going to soak in the environment.

Sean's Take: Reading Burke's Q&A post it looks like care and love went in to crafting Suramar. I'm still a Legion infant so it will be a while before I experience the hostile city. But I'm looking forward to it. Hopefully everyone who outpaces me doesn't spoil the experience.
