World Of Warcraft Players Suffer From Odd Chat Exploit

World of Warcraft players have taken to Reddit in an attempt to warn others that there is a bizarre new chat exploit making the rounds in Blizzard's ever-popular MMORPG. The exploit involves a user asking players to execute a specific /run command. Once the command has been executed, the user can essentially take over the client of the player who executed the command by whispering new commands to them. The "infected" clients will then, in turn, whisper the new commands to other players.

According to MMORPG.com, the exploit is primarily being used to force players to give away all of their gold to whoever they open a trade with. Supposedly, those who fall victim to this exploit are unaware that their client has been infected until they find that their gold is missing.

I have no doubt that Blizzard will attempt to put an end to the exploit in the near future, but players should remain cautious in the meantime.
