World Of Warcraft: Legion Sold 3.3 Million Copies By August 30th

World of Warcraft: Legion, the game's sixth expansion, sold 3.3 million copies by August 30, 2016, matching the sales of previous expansions. I bet Blizzard wishes they never stopped reporting subscriber numbers.
"We knew Legion was really special and during the beta when everything was coming together we knew this expansion was going to be something for the books," said Blizzard during a Pax West stream (~3:15), "but reception has just blown us away."
The game's launch week player concurrency—the number of player's online at one time—rose to its highest number since World of Warcraft: Cataclysm launched in 2010. Just by word of mouth I knew Legion was a success. The game's tag sits comfortably under many names in the Discords I visit.
But, we're still in the early days of launch, and successful launches don't guarantee longevity. While we may not have hard data to judge Legion in a month or two, word of mouth should be enough to gauge player sentiment. I hope it's just as enthusiastic then as it is today.
