World of Warcraft players will soon find it easier to obtain tier set pieces with the arrival of the long-running MMORPG’s new Revival Catalyst system next week. The new system will allow players to convert their Season 1 Dragonflight gear from a wide variety of sources into corresponding tier gear for the same slot.

“Eligible items can be earned through Mythic+ dungeons, PvP, the Vault of the Incarnates raid dungeon, Tier 2 (Epic) Storm Gear, Tier 2 Warmode gear, World Bosses, and direct options from The Great Vault,” explained Blizzard. “Tier set pieces which contribute to the tier set bonus will be granted for chests, gloves, legs, helms, and shoulders. Tier set appearance pieces which do not contribute to the tier set bonus will be granted for belts, boots, bracers, and cloaks.”

To transform their gear into tier pieces, players must first complete a weekly quest that will require them to complete specific world and PvP content, raids, and Mythic+ encounters. This can be done by either a single character or multiple characters on the same account. Completing the quest will reward all characters on the account, including future ones, with a Revival Catalyst charge that they can use to convert their gear via a new console that will be added next to the NPC Antuka in the northern side of Tyrhold in Thaldraszus.

Players can also restore items that they’ve vendored, destroyed, or disenchanted should they decide to convert it into a tier piece instead. This can be done through the Item Restoration Service which can be used once per account every seven days. The Revival Catalyst system itself goes live on January 24th.

More information about the new gear conversion system can be found on the World of Warcraft official forums.
