Blizzard Entertainment might be gearing up for the next World of Warcraft expansion reveal next month but they’ve still got a lot of content planned for players in the Shadowlands. With Season 3 well underway, the team is now looking forward to the start of Season 4 later this year, which they describe as “a fresh take” on the typical WoW season.

“In Shadowlands Season 4, your PvP efforts will reward you with a new higher tier of PvP gear along with other Season rewards, such as mounts and titles. We’re planning for the highest ranking title to be Eternal Gladiator, a fitting capstone for your Shadowlands PvP accomplishments.”

Players can also expect a new Mythic+ dungeon pool which will include dungeons from the last four expansions: Warlords of Draenor, Legion, Battle for Azeroth, and Shadowlands. Several raids will also be getting new affixes with the start of Season 4.

“For Season 4 raiding, we’re imagining adding a progenitor-themed affix system to infuse some new mechanical twists into Castle Nathria, Sanctum of Domination, and Sepulcher of the First Ones. Our intention here would be to make all three raids relevant in Season 4, with increased difficulty and more powerful levels of raid loot dropping throughout all of them.”

With Season 4 starting later this year and a season typically running for 6 months or so, it’s probably safe to say that we won’t be seeing the next expansion until next year. But, at least we’ve got a whole lot of gear grinding to keep us busy in the meantime.
