World Of Warcraft Outlines New Eternity’s End Features Coming To The PTR

Blizzard Entertainment has dropped new information on some of the new features coming to World of Warcraft in Eternity’s End. One of the highlights of the patch is the return of Class Sets which will roll out with significant adjustments aimed at increasing their drop frequency over time.
Set pieces will drop from a separate loot table for each boss that drops them to ensure that groups get just the right amount of set drops each time they clear a raid. “[. . .] We don’t want a run of bad luck to cause a raid team to complete a full clear and realize they only got a very small number of Set pieces,” explained the team.
The Eternity’s End update will also introduce a new gear transformer called the Creation Catalyst which will allow players to craft missing set pieces from raid bosses or the Great Vault. The new feature also functions as a catchup mechanic that will allow players to quickly gear up an alt.
“The Catalyst exists as an answer to the problems we’ve had with class sets in the past (where either acquisition was much too fast and threw off content, or painfully slow and annoying)," said the devs.
The devs have also decided to make the switch to Set Token drops instead of actual items to give everyone a more or less equal chance to acquire the set pieces they need regardless of their role in the raid group. Mystic Tokens can be used by Mages, Druids, and Hunters; Venerated Tokens by Paladins, Shamans, and Priests; Zenith Tokens by Rogues, Monks, and Warriors; and Dreadful Tokens by Warlocks, Death Knights, and Demon Hunters. These new groups will also replace the Protector, Conqueror, and Vanquisher class groupings used in the past.
These new features will be coming to the PTR over the next few weeks. Blizzard has yet to reveal an exact launch date for the live patch. More information can be found on the World of Warcraft Blue Tracker site.
