World of Warcraft is celebrating its 17th anniversary later this month with familiar places and old foes, along with new achievements and rewards. The festivities kick off on November 15th and will run until December 6th. Players who login between the said dates will be able to claim the 17th Anniversary achievement and the Anniversary Gift Package which will include an invitation to a new quest.

The Alterac Valley battleground and several classic boss encounters will also be returning during the anniversary celebrations with new and classic rewards up for grabs, including the Illidari Doomhawk mount, a Doomwalker Trophy Stand, the Stormpike Battle Ram for Alliance members, and the Frostwolf Snarler for the members of the Horde.

“It’s been 17 years since gates opened into Azeroth, and the heroes of the Horde and Alliance began their journey of discovery and adventure. To celebrate this momentous occasion, some familiar foes have returned to Azeroth—with some slightly updated abilities. Players level 30 and above can take on Lord Kazzak, Azuregos, and one of the four Dragons of Nightmare each day for some loot and Timewarped Badges.”

Players can also make their way over to the Caverns of Time for some Khadgar-head Soccer, dancing, and the usual array of anniversary activities. Full event details can be found on the World of Warcraft official site.
