World of Warcraft Classic: Cataclysm Announced and Launching in First Half of 2024
While retail World of Warcraft took the spotlight at Blizzcon with the announcement of 3 new expansions, WoW Classic will see the launch of Cataclysm sometime in the first half of 2024. Given that Wrath of the Lich King launched last year, it's no surprise Cataclysm is coming next.
Cataclysm is launching with some improvements based on player feedback. These improvements include:
- Faster content cadence
- Improvements to leveling (faster)
- Expanded collections UI
- A New difficulty level for dungeon finder
- and more!
Classic remains free with a World of Warcraft subscription, but Blizzard is offering a 'Blazing Heroic Pack' upgrade for $29.99 and a 'Blazing Epic Upgrade' for $79.99. The heroic pack includes Lil' Wrathion pet, the Avatar of Flame flying mount, and a Runebound Firelord mount for retail WoW. It also includes a special transmog set and a Town in a Box starter set toy. The more expensive $79.99 Blazing Epic upgrade includes everything the heroic pack does, but also a level 80 character boost and 30 days of game time.
