Workaround Allows Google Stadia Games To Be Played On iOS Devices
Since Google Stadia launched in November 2019, the app’s functionality on iOS devices has been limited to setting up and managing an account thanks to the App Store’s strict Game Streaming policy. Starting today, iPhone and iPad users with the latest firmware will be able to play their favorite games on Google’s game streaming service with a simple workaround.
Google walks users through the steps in their latest post on Twitter. Players are advised to log in to their account through the Safari web browser, tap on the “Share” button on the Stadia homepage, then tap on “Add to Home Screen”. This will allow the page to function more like a web app rather than a browser page when launched from the device’s home page.
