Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem Rolls Out Its Final Story Chapter And Partially Wipes Progress
The epic conclusion to Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem’s storyline is now at hand three years after the multiplayer ARPG’s launch. This week’s aptly-named Endgame update kicks off the fourth and final chapter of the main story arc which will feature the final confrontation against The Blind Prince, Ahriman.
“The city falls under the hungry gaze of a being more powerful, more cunning, and more dangerous, than any you have directly fought before,” says Wolcen Studio. “A being whose machinations have led you, the Ascended, to this moment. All you have fought for, all you have lost, the allies you have gained, and the family that was broken, are poised to burn away in a tide of ash, fire, and Fury. You must prepare. Stormfall must prepare.”
Instead of the traditional campaign, Chapter 4 features a combination of story missions and the previously released Champion of Stormfall city-building game mode. Players will need to unlock the final fight against Ahriman by plowing a rogue-like dungeon and completing repeatable missions. Failing to defeat Ahriman will restart the process so you’ll probably be grinding your way through the dungeon multiple times.
Before you can jump into Chapter 4 though, you’ll also need to complete the Bloodtrail Chronicles storyline even if you’ve already finished it as its now been integrated into the final chapter. To top it all off, you’ll also need to work your way up from level 40 again as all progress from that point has been wiped on account of the sweeping gameplay and system changes introduced with the massive update.
All skill levels have now been reset to level 40 along with a complete wipe of all currencies and all progress in Champion of Stormfall. Characters created during the game’s early days have also had their gear wiped but have been provided with compensation gear.
