Wizards of the Coast reveals their new Magic: The Gathering Card Game

You may have heard something about a Magic: The Gathering MMORPG being in development, and this...is not it! No, in a press release sent out very recently, Wizards of the Coast, masters of tabletop, miniature, and card games, has announced a new way to play MTG - Magic: The Gathering Arena!

Magic: The Gathering Arena will be a free-to-play digital game that, and I quote, "brings authentic Magic gamplay to gamers, streamers, and fans around the world." Magic: The Gathering Arena will be the first game developed by the new Digital Games Studio, which is a part of Wizards of the Coast, focused on digital games.
"The future of Magic is about making sure we stay true to our awesome community of strategy game players. It's making sure that they can carry that amazing Magic experience wherever they go, not only in their Friday Night Magic life, but their everyday life. As the very first game under the Magic Digital Next initiative to improve and expand digital Magic, MTG Arena is an important step toward that future." - Elaine Chase, Vice President of global brand strategy and marketing for Magic.
Those interested can sign up for the closed beta of MTG Arena here, which is expected to start SoonTM!
