WildStar Starts the Protogames Initiative

WildStar has just launched their latest update, called the Protogames Initiative. This content update adds a variety of features to the popular online game, including a new Shiphand mission, two new dungeons, and an entirely new customization system. In addition, there are also minor item and character tweaks that address previous player concerns and feedback.

The new Shiphand mission, called "They Came From Fragment Zero!" is designed for lower level players, but comes with a level 50 veteran mode. This will provide a fun experience for both new and advanced players. In a similar vein, the two new dungeons have a low level tutorial, and a high level veteran dungeon. Players will be able to learn WildStar's mechanics in the level-10 Protogames Academy, and put them to skill in The Ultimate Protogames. The WildStar staff is adamant in releasing content that has something for all players.

The new character customization system is called the Character Chop Shop and is not the normal character editor. In addition to changing the usual face, hair, and body, players will also be able to view their characters with various sets of gear. As players will now be able to see how their characters will look from beginning to end, they will be able to plan and change accordingly. Along with the Character Chop Shop, WildStar has also given players the ability to customize their housing property through the use of Terrain Sets. This will let them change the surrounding area around their homes, giving a more personalized look. View the trailer below for an in-game look.
