Airship Syndicate and Digital Extremes’ sci-fi fantasy MMORPG Wayfinder has caught the attention of former WildStar developers due to the it’s similarities with the sunsetted title. It’s a good kind of attention though as executives from the now-defunct Carbine Studios expressed their interest in the upcoming game.

Wildstar’s former creative producer, Chad Moore, even went as far as calling it “the second coming of the greatest MMO of all time.” Former producer Stephan Frost also admitted that he’s been waiting for an update on Wayfinder.

For anyone else interested in Wayfinder, the team will be kicking off another closed beta test for PC and PlayStation today. Signups are still open on Steam if you want to throw your name into the hat, or you can just wait for the Digital Extremes to start selling Founder’s Packs to gain guaranteed access to the Founder’s Early Access in May.
