Warhaven Adds A New Character And Kicks Off Valentine’s Event Despite Its Looming Closure

Nexon is determined to make the most of Warhaven’s remaining days with the addition of a new character and a Valentine’s Day event.
If you missed the announcement, Nexon will be pulling the plug on the free-to-play PvP title on April 4 after failing to keep players engaged despite its best efforts to address the issues that marred its early access launch. The good news is that Warhaven’s remaining players will still have something meaningful to do as they await the game’s impending closure, including a brutish new character to go to battle with, named Hatchet.
As his name suggests, Hatchet’s weapon of choice is a massive axe that he employs to deadly effect. His playstyle is akin to the traditional barbarian trope, hacking away at enemies to fill up meters that will allow him to unleash heavy-hitting attacks and abilities.
The hatchet-wielding soldier arrives alongside the game’s first, and unfortunately final Valentine’s Day event, dubbed Heartflame Festival. The event will run until February 21st, offering limited-time quests that players can complete to earn event points which can then be exchanged for Valentine’s Day-themed rewards. The cash shop has also been updated with similarly-themed weapon skins and outfits, including a giant lollipop shield and a chocolate-covered dagger, all of which can be claimed free of charge.
It’s a good way to pass the time if you don’t have anything better to do since you’ll eventually lose any items and cosmetics you earn when the game shuts down in two months. It looks like Nexon still has a few updates waiting in the wings, so stay tuned.
