Voxel Space MMO Starbase Has Finally Launched Into Early Access On Steam
After being delayed five times over the past two years, Frozenbyte’s voxel space-building sandbox MMO Starbase has finally launched into early access. The Finnish indie studio admits that the Early Access version is still missing key features but, as they say, progress is still progress, no matter how small.
“The long wait is over and early access is here! We are incredibly excited to launch Starbase in early access after more than a year in closed alpha. The game is still in an alpha stage as we are missing features and gameplay loops, but our vision is starting to come together and it’s time to open up the game to the whole community!”
That being said, the current build does come with all the basic features and gameplay systems needed for a sandbox building MMO, including the ability to design, build, and modify spaceships, a massive open world to explore, mining, gathering, crafting, social connections, and trading.
The team is promising two to three updates per month with moon bases and capital ships coming in August and station siege mechanics planned for release in September. Details can be found on the Starbase Steam Page.
