Upcoming MMO Seed Scores Additional Funding

Seed is an upcoming colony survival simulation MMO being developed by independent German development studio, Klang Games. The game’s expansive sandbox world is made possible my Improbable’s SpatialOS the same engine used by Worlds Adrift.

As we all know, developing a game requires a boatload of money. Klang Games, however, seems to be set for the time being. According to Gamasutra, “The Berlin-based developer Klang Games has secured additional funding to power the creation of its AI-driven strategy MMO, Seed. The undisclosed amount comes way of Greylock Partners’ Discovery Fund, David Helgason of Unity, and the investor Joi Ito.”

In addition to securing additional funding, Klang Games has also enlisted the help of Lawrence Lessig, a Harvard Law professor, to help craft the virtual world’s political structure. Check out early game footage of Seed after the break.
