Ubisoft has spilled the tea on The Division Resurgence including testing dates and a launch window for the post-apocalyptic mobile shooter. The mobile spinoff is expected to launch on Android and iOS devices sometime this fall with two regional beta tests scheduled between now and then.

The beta tests will run on both Android and iOS, the first of which is now live and will run until July 24th. The second one will run from August 8th to September 19th. The playtests will be available only in selected regions including Australia, Chile, Denmark, Netherlands, Spain, and Sweden. Ubisoft also provided information on compatible devices, participation rewards, and the release notes for the beta build in this post.

The studio also talks up The Division Resurgence’s gameplay mechanics, which, like previous games in the series will feature cover-and-shoot combat, looting, gear customization, co-op play, and PvP. Unlike previous games, however, Resurgence will come with a unique touch control system that will provide a gamepad-like experience as well as the ability to instantly upgrade weapons.

Ubisoft also shared information about the mobile port’s Dark Zone, different weapon damage types, and the Focus specialization system that prioritizes playstyle over weapon choice and lets players switch between one of two unique builds on the fly.

“Introduced in The Division 2, Specializations featured a signature weapon and a skill tree that helped buff that weapon and unlock skills and abilities generally related to the playstyle the weapon encouraged,” Ubisoft explained. “In The Division Resurgence, Specializations have evolved into powerful packages of abilities, based not around a specific weapon, but a specific playstyle.”

As previously revealed, The Division Resurgence will take players back to post-apocalyptic New York where they'll take on new factions and villains in a brand-new narrative. You can check out the full dev blog on the official site for more information.
