Tarisland Showcases Its Quick-Hitting And Poison-Inflicting Shadow Swordsman Class
Tencent continues its Tarisland class preview series with a sneak peek at the in-development MMORPG’s assassin class – the Shadow Swordsman.
Like Tarisland’s other classes, the Shadow Swordsman follows the typical MMORPG assassin trope with dual-wield blades and poison attacks. They can also specialize in one of two distinct builds: Cunning and Dueling.
“As a master of poison, the Cunning Shadow Swordsman is well-versed in the nature and use of various poisons,” Tencent reveals. “He can inflict fatal damage on the enemies before they even realize it. With the combination of deadly toxins and fierce attacks, the Cunning Shadow Swordsman is a silent assassin on the battleground.”
The Cunning specialization relies on a class resource called Energy to power up both its physical and poison attacks. Most of its class skills consume energy when triggered, which in turn increases poison level. When the poison level reaches a certain threshold, the Shadow Swordsman will gain access to the Deadly Poison ability which deals damage to a target over time.
The Dueling specialization, on the other hand, deals more direct and powerful damage using both melee and ranged attacks that deal bonus damage with proper timing.
The Shadow Swordsman will be one of the classes included in Tarisland’s second closed beta test on November 15th. In the meantime, you can learn more about the new class on the Tarisland official site.
