Mobile WoW-Like MMORPG Tarisland Launches on Steam with Disappointing Numbers

Tencent's once highly anticipated mobile World of Warcraft like MMORPG Tarisland officially launched earlier this week onto Steam (October 23 to be precise). The game has been available for both PC (through a standalone client) and mobile since June 21st, but only just recently laucnhed on Steam to try and expand its reach.
Not surprisingly the Steam launch received a largely muted response with a user score of 'mostly negative' and an average conccurent playerbase of just 130 players.
Having played Tarisland at launch (and hit max level), the game was mostly disappointing. Production value while it looks great and features a large persistent world like a traditional PC MMORPG, but the core gameplay mechanics felt boring. Abilities would automatically combo into an efficient rotation and dungeon designs were lackluster. On the positive side, the game's boss mechanics were interesting and reminsicent of PC MMORPGs. Combat during these raids/boss encounters are the highlight of the game.
