Tencent will be making significant changes to Tarisland in response to player feedback, particularly when it comes to the WoW-wannabe’s core gameplay mechanics.

During the closed beta, the studio conducted a poll among its dedicated testers, and the results revealed a strong preference for PvE content. Casual play and questing, on the other hand, ranked lower in interest, which is expected given that the respondents were mainly hardcore players. PvP also generated considerable attention, with 26.7% of closed beta testers expressing interest in it.

“The result basically aligns with our expectations, but we were surprised by the strong demand for PVP gameplay,” Tencent said. “In response to the adventurers’ positive response to PVP, world Exploration and Crafting, we have decided to readjust development resources and focus more on them.”

While PvE dungeoneering will remain the core gameplay of Tarisland, the team acknowledges the need for improvements to PvP content and will be rolling out changes and adjustments accordingly.

Tencent also identified some areas for improvement in Tarisland’s exploration and crafting systems. The developers admitted that their current versions functioned merely as a tool rather than delivering the immersive experience that they originally envisioned. Consequently, both systems will undergo overhauls, with crafting receiving a notable buff through the introduction of a growth system. The team, however, has yet to reveal details about the said growth system.

In the meantime, the team is asking testers and fans to offer more suggestions and feedback on what they want to see in the game.
