When Blizzard and NetEase parted ways, marking the end of World of Warcraft in China, Tencent couldn't resist making a bold move. Following the split, the Chinese media giant promptly announced a new MMORPG called Tarisland that bears a striking similarity to Blizzard’s popular MMORPG.

It looks like Tencent is just about ready to unleash their creation out into the world as it confirms a global launch on PC and mobile device later this year.

“Tarisland will open the gates to this new world later this year,” tweeted Tencent. “We are striving to create a non-pay-to-win MMORPG on PC/mobile, featuring raids, diverse classes & builds, and a vast world for exploration. What world are you hoping for?”

The studio also dropped a flashy CGI trailer to mark the game’s announcement, promising a closed beta test coming soon. Sign-ups are now open on the Tarisland website if you want first dibs on the game. You can check out the official announcement trailer below.
