Star Wars: The Old Republic's Jedi And Sith Receiving Changes

The team at Bioware have just released notes about Game Update 4.0 and what that means for the Jedi Knight and Sith Warrior. Primarily, the team want to "make them more difficult to kite" by increasing their mobility on the battlefield. They're meant to be formidable opponents, as they wield the force, and the new ability, called Blade Blitz for Jedi and Mad Dash for Sith, is intended to help with that. This ability is designed to help them "stay on target while in combat." The official description is "Dash forward 20 meters, dealing weapon damage to enemies in your path and increasing your defense chance by 100% while dashing." It sounds like it can essentially be simplified to "ranged characters had a bit too much of an upper hand over Jedi and Sith, so we gave them an ability to dash towards opponents attempting to run." It's a bit of a wonder that they didn't have this kind of skill beforehand, being melee-focused in a world with so many ranged weapons.

The post then goes on to explain the specifics of the class changes. Discipline Active Ability Grant Levels have been changed to once every 16 levels after level 10. Discipline Passive Ability Grant Levels have changed to once every 4 levels after level 12. Additionally, combined, there are over a dozen new passives, actives, and utilities.
