Skyforge Producer Addresses NA Server Instability

If you've been playing Skyforge from North America even the slightest bit this week, you've probably experienced a few issues. Random lag spikes, inventory delay, and long queue times have all plagued my time in Aelion. Fortunately, in a Producer's Letter published today, producer Aaron Biedma lets us know that the team are aware of the issue, have identified the cause, and are working to fix it.

He notes that the server has been enduring a higher load than it should have been due to a buildup of database requests caused by the amount of players connecting to the game. Due the nature of the issue, he notes that it "wasn't immediately noticeable," but that it built up to a point where it overloaded the server, causing the aforementioned issues. To fix this, they have implemented a server-side patch that aims to reduce some of the databases' heavy lifting. They are also planning to upgrade server hardware in the near future.

For those worried that these issues may continue, Biedma seems determined to make sure they are dealt with swiftly, outright stating that "the current stability of our servers is simply not acceptable." Hopefully, this means that we can count on continued support, should the issue persist after the upgrades.
