Skyforge Shutting Down on September 3, 2025

After almost a decade of letting players ascend to godhood, Skyforge is winding down. Publisher My.Games confirmed that the free-to-play action MMO will stop accepting payments on August 1, 2025, with European and North American servers scheduled to go dark on September 3, 2025. Until then, the game will stay online with full access for existing players.
Launched on PC in 2015 and later ported to PlayStation and Xbox, Skyforge stood out for its mix-and-match class system and its sci-fi spin on traditional fantasy MMO tropes. Developed by Allods Team, the title invited players to build divine avatars and defend the planet Aelion from alien invasions. The shutdown follows a string of sunsetting free-to-play MMOs in recent years, reflecting how competitive and costly live-service support has become.
- August 1, 2025: Real-money purchases disabled on Steam and 4game.
- September 3, 2025: Servers close in Europe and North America; all accounts become inaccessible.
- Progress, characters, and currencies cannot be transferred to other platforms or versions.
- Support tickets will be handled through the usual 4game channels until the shutdown.
- In the final month, the team plans limited-time events that let everyone experiment with high-tier gear and content.
- Official social channels will be archived, and commenting will be turned off after closure.
While My.Games has not offered a detailed explanation, it cited the rightholder’s decision to discontinue the project worldwide. Players can still use their Steam or 4game credentials for other titles on those platforms, but Skyforge itself will not be revived elsewhere.
