Sea Of Thieves Kicks Off A New Limited-Time Adventure Narrative In ‘The Rogue’s Legacy’

After taking on a plundering pirate faction and a mysterious assassin, Sea of Thieves players now embark on a quest to reach a treasure-filled island with the threat of an ancient curse looming over their heads in the pirate MMORPG’s latest limited-time adventure, The Rogue’s Legacy.

The Rogue’s Legacy marks the beginning of a new narrative that revolves around the adventures of a trailblazing pirate named Briggsy and her quest to assemble an ancient relic called the Shroudbreaker. The relic would serve as the key to bypass the deadly miasma surrounding a treasure-laden island known as the Shores of Gold. Upon assembling the Shroudbreaker, she set a course for the island only to find out that its treasures had already been claimed by a Skeleton Lord and that by touching them she had cursed herself to a lifetime in his servitude, transforming her into a pirate skeleton and earning her the title of the Cursed Rogue. She ultimately died at the hands of pirates who also sought to claim the islands wealth for themselves.

The tale is recounted by the Unicorn Tavern’s owner, Tasha, who had admired Briggsy from a young age. Tasha would later head to the island herself only to be afflicted by the same curse as the Cursed Rogue.

“Now it’s your turn,” says the game’s developers. “The task of navigating those riddles and responsibilities rests with pirates who choose to shoulder the burden Tasha once carried, deciphering Briggsy’s lessons, sorting fact from fiction and uncovering the treasures that Madame Olivia so urgently seeks. […] You’ll finish what was started and discover the consequences of Tasha’s after-hours adventures for yourself…”
