RuneScape Restores First Wave Of Locked Out Accounts, Weekly Updates Resume
After a month of damage control, Jagex has finally restored the first wave of RuneScape accounts affected by the now infamous login lockout bug. It’s not a perfect fix though as Jagex previously admitted.
Players returning to the world of Gielnor after being locked out will find their bank inventories in disarray and some might be missing Invention Perks or farm animals. They might also be missing Bonds and Keys which will be restored shortly after they regain access to their account.
“We've tried our best to resolve as many issues as possible whilst also balancing the desire to get everyone back in-game as soon as possible,” said the team. “We know some of you might be more impacted by these issues than others, which is why we've set up a dedicated aftercare service for all affected players to use.”
On the upside, affected players will also find a compensation package when they login on or after April 6. The package will contain exclusive cosmetics, including “The Returned” title, and various consumables. Subscriptions will also be extended by an additional month on top of the free month that started March 18. Players can also look forward to bonus-packed weekly events throughout the month of April to help players get back into the groove.
The next wave of restored accounts will be coming out later today.
Weekly updates have also returned as of yesterday, featuring the start of the Spring Festival and the previously-announced Pi-Mas combat changes. The full patch notes can be found on the RuneScape official site. You can also check out the preview livestream below where the devs dive into the patch’s contents.
