Catalyst League Brings Seasonal Competition to RuneScape

Jagex has kicked off Catalyst, the first seasonal League ever offered in the modern version of RuneScape. Running from 15 September through 10 November 2025, the limited-time mode gives members a fresh save slot with super-charged experience rates and a long list of optional tasks that hand out points, unlockable relics, and bragging-rights trophies.
Seasonal leagues have been a popular fixture in Old School RuneScape for several years, but this marks their debut in the main game sometimes called “RS3.” The format combines a rapid power curve with a leaderboard race, offering long-time players something new to chase while giving lapsed players an excuse to hop back in without feeling behind.
How Catalyst Works
- Available to all paying members from 15 September to 10 November 2025.
- Characters start from scratch yet level at dramatically increased XP rates, making high-level content reachable in a fraction of the usual time.
- Hundreds of tasks range from simple skirmishes with low-level creatures to late-game boss hunts. Each task awards League Points.
- Points unlock Relics - passive modifiers that tweak skills or movement. New options like Farming Frenzy and Golden Footed join fan favorites borrowed from the Old School leagues.
- A global leaderboard tracks overall progress. The top finisher earns a unique Dragon Trophy; all participants receive a smaller commemorative trophy.
- Unspent League Points convert to cosmetics in the standard game once the event ends.
- Jagex is selling a time-boxed membership package covering the entire eight-week event for $21.99, available until 21 September.
RuneScape is available on Steam, iOS, and Android with crossplay compatability.
