Big things are in store for PUBG: Battlegrounds this year as Krafton unveils its 2024 development roadmap for the granddaddy of all battle royale games. One of the biggest things to watch out for is the game’s Unreal Engine 5 upgrade and the visual improvements that will come along with it.

Krafton will also be making the entire map fully destructible. That includes terrain, buildings, walls, and those pesky bushes that everyone loves to hide in, drastically changing how the game is played. It should also discourage camping since you’ll be able to simply blast a hole into a room or destroy it entirely to flush out campers. Expect some of the elements to arrive sometime in April.

Krafton also promises to update weapons and gunplay every two months to keep combat fresh and keep players from getting stuck on just one loadout. The team will also be adding new survival items and consumables to give players more options outside of the traditional med kits, bandages, and pain killers.

Players can also look forward to new game modes, more accurate matchmaking, new seasons, and more collaboration events. The PUBG: Battlegrounds dev team talks up the changes in the developer video below.
