With Singularity 6 due to start beta testing Palia in less than two weeks, the studio has finally decided to give fans their first look at the community simulator’s gameplay during an hour-long preview stream. Most of what was showcased was tutorial gameplay but it does offer a glimpse into the game’s character creation and starting experience, as well as skill leveling, crafting, and multiplayer.

In line with Palia’s community-centric gameplay, players will get a variety of bonuses when they take on activities as a group. They’ll also earn the same rewards to ensure that everybody gets a fair piece of the pie. Teamwork and cooperation will be an important part of the game, as some activities like gathering resources from certain types of trees will require a team to complete. They’ll also be able to encourage players who are having trouble catching fish to make the mini-game a bit easier.

The team also offered a sneak peek at the cosmetics that will be on offer in the cash shop, reiterating that it will be completely cosmetics-only. How much the said cosmetics will cost, however, was purposely hidden by the stream’s layout.

The preview concluded with an enchanting look at the Bahari Bay adventure zone that’s designed to encourage exploration and, of course, cooperation. Players will also be able to immerse themselves in the game’s lore as they uncover hidden secrets and gather high-end resources within it. The team promises to add more zones and unlock new explorable areas in existing ones in the lead up to the game’s launch and beyond.

Palia is set to begin closed beta testing on August 2nd. In the meantime, you can check out the video below for an extended preview of what the game has to offer.
