Overwatch 2 Continues To Get Nuked On Steam, Now Steam’s Worst Reviewed Game

It’s been a week since Overwatch 2 launched on Steam to overwhelmingly negative reviews and it looks like the review bombing isn’t going to stop anytime soon. As of this writing, the disappointing sequel has received over 124,000 reviews and has managed to claim the title of the worst reviewed game on Steam to date.

Most of the reviews are from disgruntled Overwatch players raging about how the Blizzard replaced a good game with a far inferior sequel, the broken promise of more narrative-driven PvE content, balance issues, predatory microtransactions, and overpriced skins.

Despite the ongoing review bombing, Overwatch 2’s concurrency numbers on Steam aren’t looking too shabby, peaking at just over 75,500 players over the weekend. Activision Blizzard’s Q2 2023 investor report, however, noted a huge decline in the hero shooter’s playerbase since its launch last fall and it looks like it’s going to be the same story on Steam.

As the saying goes, any publicity is good publicity, although probably not to this extent. Meanwhile, there’s a new support hero for you to try following Illari’s debut last week. You can check out her origin story below.
