Nintendo and Google Invest 20 Million USD Into Niantic Labs

Niantic Labs, creators of the Augment Reality MMO, Ingress, have announced that they've received $20 Million USD in investments from Nintendo and Google. Just last month we saw the unveiling of Pokemon GO, a new augmented reality Pokemon experience as a collaboration between Nintendo and Niantic and now we can see Nintendo and Google putting their faith and money behind the project with the whopping investment.

Niantic is no stranger to augmented reality, as they pioneered the iOS and Android, Ingress, which seems to use a lot of technology that Pokemon GO will need to utilize to succeed. We can only hope that the dream of scouring the streets as a Pokemon Master will not be let down. 😀
