Nintendo Releases Pokemon Augmented Reality MMORPG Video
Has the time finally come? Nintendo of Japan has released a video on their Japanese Youtube channel for a game called Pokemon Go— which seems like an augmented reality mmorpg— which is downright crazy. The video details that the supposed game will be on Android and iOS in 2016 and allows players from all around the world to "see" pokemon in their areas. Some of the features of the game include: meeting up with players, catching wild Pokemon in your vicinity, the ever popular Pokemon Battle and even showcases some kind of augmented reality Pokemon Raids that take place in real life.
The game is a collaboration between The Pokemon Company and Niantic, creators of the augmented reality MMORPG, Ingress.
Players will use a bluetooth device called "Pokemon Go Plus" which is sort of like an in real life rumble pack that will alert players if something is happening to them within their augmented reality. This could be discovering a new Pokemon or an attack by another trainer.

Although we've seen this before with Ingress (although not as elaborate), Pokemon is attempting to bring their ever popular intellectual property to the next level. I mean, who didn't dream as a kid of walking outside and partaking on your own Pokemon journey?
