Nexon is flexing its mobile bicep and releasing 6 mobile titles before the year ends, in South Korea. The company released a trailer, which you can watch below, to make sure you understand just how much they've been working out.

The biggest hit will be MapleStory M, a more direct port of the PC counterpart than its predecessor Pocket MapleStory, which was good but not what I expected.

Besides a cliché looking city-building strategy game, the below trailer also briefly displays Dungeon & Fighter: Spirit—a 3D rendition of Dungeon Fighter Online which should release globally at some point—and Elsword Slash.

Nexon wants to solidify their position in the mobile market, and they may be able to put South Korea back in the spotlight as a producer of mobile MMOs. They do face stiff competition from China according to Newzoo's Global Mobile Market Report.

We should see some of Nexon's games emigrate in the early months of 2017.

Sean's Take: I'm actually looking forward to MapelStory M. If it's anything like the PC counterpart then I predict a runaway success. Games that capture the feeling and nostalgia of their PC counterparts ought to do well, as I imagine they tap into an already existing playerbase (or former) rather than exciting new players to an established IP. I could be wrong, but we shall see if Nexon's quantity strategy helps them solidify their position in the mobile arena.
