New World Merges More Servers As Its Population Continues To Drop

New World’s population continues to drop now that the Brimstone Sands expansion and fresh start servers launch rush has run its course. To maintain a healthy population across all its servers, Amazon Game Studios has merged servers multiple times over the past few months and have merged a couple more earlier today.
Eight servers were included in the merge, namely: Tartarus (Central EU), which was merged with Nysa, Avalon (US East), which was merged with Lilith, and Yggdrasil (US West) and Yonas (US West), which were merged with El Dorado and Isabella, respectively.
New World’s 24-hour peak concurrency now sits at 31,752 players compared to last month’s average peak concurrency of around 55,000 players. It’s also a massive drop from the 137,755 peak concurrency that it logged during Brimstone Sands’ launch day but not entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Amazon has released yet another Forged in Aeternum video where the devs talk about why some features are harder to develop and implement compared to others. You can check out the new video after the cut.
