New World Previews Season 4: Eternal Frost’s New Glacial Tarn Expedition

Eternal Frost is about to descend on New World as Amazon Game Studios prepares to kick off the titular season next month. One of the highlights of the expansion is the new Glacial Tarn expedition and the focal point of Episode 59 of the studio’s long-running Forged in Aeternum video series.

“The Glacial Tarn is a new Level 65 Expedition set in the Great Cleave. Explore a cavernous frozen complex hidden beyond the Empyrean Forge in pursuit of the Varangian Knight Ser Loth. Locate and harness the primordial magic of the Empyrean Flame to overcome enemies and obstacles imbued with Ice Magic, and destroy Ser Loth before his power consumes all of Aeternum.”

Before you face off against Ser Loth, you’ll first have to deal with his army of ice enchanted ancients and the Varangian horde. To make your job a lot easier, you’ll have to regularly interact with furnaces to ensure that the Empyrean Flame buff is always active. The buff removes ice armor from enemies and increases your damage to ice obstacles, allowing you to progress through the expedition’s icy halls that much faster.

Season 4: Eternal Frost is set to begin on December 12th and is now live on the public test realm if you want to take it out for a test run.
