New World’s Creative Director Talks State Of Balance In A New Dev Video

The quest to achieve game balance is a never-ending one for developers, especially for live service games that get continuous and regular updates. In the latest episode of New World’s long-running Forged in Aeternum video series, titled Balance of Power, Creative Director David Verfaillie talks about how balance is handled in the open-world MMORPG.
Verfaillie admits that they’ve been slow to make balance adjustments in the past but will now be making it a priority. Major balance changes will now be deployed every month and will continue to be adjusted accordingly over time.
Going forward, Balance of Power will also become a monthly recurring segment that will focus on combat and offer a “hard and honest” look at the state of balance in New World.
