NCSOFT Reveals "Project LLL" - A New Open World Action MMO For PC & Consoles Launching in 2024

NCSoft revealed its latest game yesterday tentatively titled 'Project LLL' which is scheduled to launch sometime in 2024 for PC & Consoles. It will be an open world action MMO that's set in an alternative historic sci-fi world where players can explore a "post-apocalyptic South Korea, a 10th century Byzantine empire, and a 23rd century future all existing in one timeline."
Gameplay wise Project LLL looks like a looter-shooter similar to Warframe or Destiny 2, but not entirely as it features a massive open world. The game will also utilize procedurarly generated content to ensure things aren't repetitive. Further details about design the game and its design philosophy can be gleaned in an interview with the game's project lead Seeder Jaehyun Bae.
Project LLL will feature a vast open world in which more than 30km of land area is seamlessly connected to a single environment offering players compelling procedurally created content that reacts appropriately to the player’s situation instead of playing preset content on repeat.
“I personally referenced the novels Foundation and Dune. In terms of the subject of the game, I was influenced by the novels of Philip K. Dick,” said Seeder Jaehyun Bae, project lead on Project LLL. “I tried to develop the story with themes of technology, human justice, and alternate history as shown in Blade Runner, Total Recall, The Man in the High Castle, etc.”
