MU Online’s Latest Update Digs Deep With a New Dungeon and Higher Level Cap

Two decades after its original launch, MU Online is still finding ways to keep veteran warriors busy. The long-running Korean MMORPG has rolled out the second half of Season 20 Part 1 on PC, headlined by a fresh endgame dungeon and a level cap increase (to 1,700).

The patch targets players who have already pushed well into the four-digit level range. A tougher hunting zone, new class-specific gear, and a slate of limited-time events should give high-level characters plenty of reasons to log back in.

What’s new in Season 20 Part 1 – 2nd Update

  • Kardamahal Underground Temple – A level-1500+ dungeon beneath Karutan filled with elemental monsters such as Devil Sword and Devil Sorcery. Drops include talismans and combination fragments used for late-game crafting.
  • Level cap raised to 1,700 – Characters can now push 50 levels higher, the first increase since Season 19. Players who reach 1,600 and 1,650 before the next season unlock special Muun pets for thirty days.
  • Alchemist exclusive gear – The recently added Alchemist class gains three new wing tiers (Protection, Purity, Wisdom) plus weapon and socket armor sets aimed at enhancing its potion-based combat style.
  • Seasonal Muun rewards – Alchemist Muun (new) and Dark Lord Muun (returning) offer a 20× stat boost for a month to anyone hitting the new milestone levels.
  • Time-limited events running through September 9:
    • Collect Elemental Symbols in the new dungeon to craft Superior Pentagrams and an Elemental Box containing rare gear.
    • 30 percent EXP bonus during designated hours and a permanent 20 percent monster HP reduction for the duration of the event.
    • Safe enhancement for Bloodangel gear up to +11, plus a flat 20 percent success boost when upgrading Mastery Accessories (+8 to +15).
    • Free mounting and extraction of Seed Spheres.
    • Lapidary Stone Ranking competition, with the top ten players per region earning the Earring of Foliage.

At more than twenty years old, MU Online has held onto a core audience that enjoys incremental power progression and competitive rankings. Despite its age, it remains Webzen's most consistently profitable MMOs.
