Niantic Opens Pre-Registration For Monster Hunter Now Ahead Of Its September Launch

Despite the success of Pokemon Go, Niantic hasn’t had much luck with its succeeding titles which have either turned out to be big failures or have been cancelled altogether. The studio, however, is determined to duplicate Pokemon Go’s success with another big-name augmented reality MMO called Monster Hunter Now.
Niantic recently opened pre-registrations for the upcoming Monster Hunter mobile game, with milestone rewards for reaching a certain number of pre-registrations. The studio also announced a launch date of September 14th for the augmented reality title.
The launch version will feature 13 iconic monsters from the series, including Rathalos, Diablos, and Legiana, among others, all of which can be found in real-world versions of their original habitats. “As hunters explore around their towns, they’ll discover these habitats and find monsters specific to those areas,” teased the devs. They’ll also have access to a variety of weapons at launch such as the Great Sword, Longsword, Sword and Shield, Hammer, Bow, and Light Bowgun.
You can add your name to the pre-registration pool on the Monster Hunter Now official site.
